While blogging is considered social media by some at least, others say that blogging and social media are two different things. However, the two have similarities. A blogger shares information and news with others through their blogs so it's pretty similar to say a Facebook profile or page or group. in fact, one can easily run a Facebook page like a blog. the difference being maybe that the page may get more followers than the blog and reach more people. it seemed odd at first to set up a fb page for my blog, but it kind of helps me to keep in touch with followers and share things more easily. and as I am on social networks more often than on blogs, I can monitor my pages and groups more easily. and more readers can find you on social networks than on internet searches.
although lately my views have gone up, that may be in part to using my blog as a home page for my social media profiles. it simplifies linking everything together in one front page that links to all my social media too.
As a social media manager of certain pages and groups it allows me to focus more on my social media pages and networks and share them here.
my fb page for this site is run like a fan page, allowing me to quickly and easily share links and info on it that would take much longer in my blog, and it also allows me to communicate with followers more easily.
