This Award of Excellence goes to one of the best and funniest and gothest comedies ever on TV. Herman Munster and his family could always brighten up a dreary day and give you a good laugh. Lily worked hard to keep the cobwebs up and Grandpa was always cooking up something in his lab. Eddie was everybody's favorite werewolf boy... who's mother was a vampire? And then there's poor Marilyn who just could not keep a man. Thanks for the laughs.

Family History Friday - Elisha, son of John. John, son of Elisha?

well it seems the most likely candidate to be the father of my third great grandfather john nichols is Elisha Nichols, son of John. Elisha married Nancy Payne, his second wife and had some children. although no one mentions John as a son of the pair, they were married and having children about the time that John was born in 1814. Also location is important because John said he was born in Bedford, VA. and there were only so many Nichols families there in 1814. So that narrows the field a bit.

previously I had thought that John may be the son of Isaac and Rhoda Nichols but they didn't even marry until 1818 so they're out. also, Isaac had a son named Isaac in 1814 from a previous marriage, possibly to a Polly as I have been told, and while this Isaac is probably the same bloodline, Isaac and John could not have the same parents.

Elisha is the most likely parent of John, and although his brothers had sons named John, they were not my John. also, there's a possibility that maybe Isaac is also descended from Elisha through a son named William? investigating that one, but it's a work in progress (WIP).

you see, I have a DNA match from Isaac which means that maybe his father Isaac may be descended from Elisha too. I read about Elisha having a son named William and I read about Isaac being descended from a William d nichols, so maybe William was the father of Isaac and the son of Elisha? well, gang it looks like we have a mystery on our hands.

you find a lot of mysteries in family history, maybe they should bring back Scooby Doo to do a genealogy cartoon? Nah!

Also, I have several DNA matches through Elisha, where I had none through previous theories.

Well, I have homework to do. keep climbing the trees and seeking the dead people.

The Latch key kids. Gen X lived through some of the best years in history. We had the best mussic and the best shows on TV ever. We had MTV when it played music and we had SNL when it was funny. We played outside until dark and we got to eat out on paydays. well most of the time. We rode in the back of trucks. We rode bikes and watched reruns. We survived. We didn't stress out so much. Life was good sometimes.

I was born in the 60s. I was just a kid when they walked on the moon. the Beatles broke up. Then came the 80s. Paychecks and Friday Night Videos on the telly. We didn't have cable until I got a job and got it installed.

Life was good sometimes then. But now it sucks. But we still have our memories. The good old days.

I will never win but at least I can sleep late today. yay

I'll never be employee of the month. I'll never be father of the year. I'll never win the lottery. I'll never find true love (unless I win the lottery of course).

Truth is no one would notice if I died today and was never seen again. No one cares.

I am invisible. I am no one. But being invisible has its perks. there's less people mistreating you. less expenses to pay for. less reasons to get out of bed on your day off.

if I could work from home life would be great. and I could if I won the lottery. but that will never happen.

i bought some tickets yesterday. five of them. didn't win anything. but I got a winning number on three of them. one number. which is basically worthless. still I didn't expect to get any numbers right. so I am calling it a fun moment.

my life stinks and someday I will die. til then I have the little moments. the little wins.

here is hoping your life is going better than mine. I mean it cant get worse.
